Discover Turntables this Black Friday & Cyber Monday

Sale of vinyl has been steadily increasing over the past couple of years following the return of a desire for tangible music. In 2016, vinyl record sales reached a 25 year high, rising 53% since 2015! It was also the first year that sales of vinyl surpassed digital downloads. But this growth hasn’t gone unnoticed and, as a result, we have seen a wave of new sleek, compact turntables hitting the shelves.

When a product gets popular, retailers want to sell as many as they can, and since turntables make great Christmas gifts for music lovers, it’s highly likely there will be some Black Friday Turntable deals, and Cyber Monday deals too. Take a look below at some of our favorites below, and check out our turntable Black Friday price analysis at the bottom of the post!

Victrola Vintage Suitcase Turntable Black Friday Deals

Victrola Vintage Turntable Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals

The Victrola Vintage is an entry level turntable with a classic style. The whole unit folds in half into an easy to carry suitcase, making it super portable and great for taking round a friends house. Here’s an overview of what we think are the best and worst bits about the Victrola Vintage turntable.

PROS:
  • Portable Design – Folds into compact suitcase for easy transportation.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity – Connect your Bluetooth devices to play music from your Victrola speakers.
  • Aux Input – Connect any non-Bluetooth devices via an aux cable.
  • RCA & Headphone Jack Output – Lets you play through headphones and external speakers.
  • Cool Designs – The turntable comes in over 17 funky and colorful designs.
CONS:
  • Low Speaker Quality – Yes this has built in speakers, but they can be quite tinny. This is okay if you only plan to use this turntable for casual use, but might not be great for serious listening.
  • Low Speaker Volume – Again, not a problem for personal use and to be expected for the price. Can be jacked up with external speakers but, similar to the JTA-230, the sound quality likely won’t compare to HI-FI.
  • Slight Wobble when Playing Records – Doesn’t affect the playback, just more of an annoyance!
  • Manual Operation – Can damage vinyl if clumsily operated.

Given the price of this turntable, it is not surprising that there are a couple of drawbacks concerning the sound quality. However, this is not really the purpose of this unit. It’s designed for style and portability and excels in both areas! We will be monitoring any price movements and Victrola Turntable Black Friday deals as we approach Thanksgiving.

The JTA-230 is an all in one, 3-speed turntable from Jensen with built in speakers. This is a great value record player with some cool features. Let’s take a quick look at the pros and cons.

PROS:
  • Built in Speakers – Similar to the Victrola, the JTA-230 has built in speakers.
  • Aux Input – Play music from your phone, laptop etc.
  • RCA Line-out & Headphone Jack – Hook up your turntable to speakers or headphones.
  • Pitch Control, Volume Control & Tone Control – More options than most compact turntables.
  • Convert Vinyl to Digital – Handy USB port lets you connect a laptop and convert vinyl to digital format with the free provided Software!
  • Belt Driven – Prevents motor vibrations from interfering with the sound for better clarity.
CONS:
  • Speaker Quality – This seems to be a recurring theme with cheap all in one record players. It’s not surprising given their price! For more serious listening we suggest the Audio Technica below.
  • Low Quality Sound Output – RCA & headphone jack output can be tinny and lack bass, meaning even if you plug into speakers or use headphones to amplify the volume, the quality likely still won’t be great.
  • No Bluetooth – Some alternative turntables include Bluetooth connectivity for playing tunes. This is not essential, but would be a nice addition.
  • Manual Operation – Can damage vinyl if clumsily operated.

Despite the cons, this is a cool little turntable and is pretty good value for money. We love the feature that allows you to record vinyl into digital format, which is likely one of the main reasons you might want it. If you would like to buy this turntable, we think it’s worth waiting to see if there are any Jensen JTA-230 Turntable Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals in 2018.

Audio Technica AT-LP60BK Turntable Black Friday DealsAudio Technica AT-LP60BK Turntable Black Friday Deals

The AT-LP60BK is a high-end turntable from Audio Technica. This is a good option for pairing with a HI-FI system and has a good build quality. Let’s take a look at what makes this a great turntable, as well as where it could be improved.

PROS:
  • Fully Automatic – Put a record on and hit play! The turntable will automatically drop the stylus gently onto the record, which helps prevent your vinyl or stylus getting damaged.
  • Belt Driven – Prevents motor vibrations from interfering with the sound for better clarity.
  • Die-Cast Aluminum Platter – Designed for anti-resonance to further improve sound quality.
  • Great Quality Cartridge – Dual Magnet phono cartridge with easily replaceable diamond stylus.
  • Built in Pre-Amp – Play music through an aux output, without the need for an amp.
CONS:
  • No Built in Speakers – This is not really a con as you wouldn’t expect a turntable designed for HI-FI systems to have built in speakers, but compared to the other options here it is a lacking feature.
  • No Bluetooth Output – For a little extra you can get the AT-LP60BK-BT, which features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless pairing with speaker systems.
  • Dual Speed – Lacks the 78 RPM speed for playing pre-1950 records, which likely won’t matter to everyone.
  • No USB Connectivity – Missing the USB port for converting vinyl to digital files. Again, available in the AT-LP60-BT.

Although the AT-LP60BK lacks some of the features of the first two turntables, the quality and durability are higher. The cons aren’t really criticisms of the overall design, rather specific drawbacks for the individual’s needs. If you would like to purchase it, it may be worth looking for Technica AT-LP60BK Turntable Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals to hopefully get a better price.
