You’ve probably found this page looking for Sony WH-1000XM3 Black Friday deals, and our analyst team has done their research.
Looking at previous years, we’ve seen Sony headphones discounted by around 13%, so we’re expecting to see Sony WH-1000XM3 Black Friday discounts, and possibly Cyber Monday sales of a similar percentage. See the WH-1000XM3 deals analysis at the bottom of the page for more information.
It is really too early to say whether or not there will be substantial WH-1000XM3 Black Friday sales. However, we have configured our price tracker to scan for any Black Friday WH-1000XM3 price movements so if there are savings, we should be the first to know and will list them on this page for our readers.
The WH-1000XM3 is a successor to the highly acclaimed WH-1000XM2 and we’re pleased to report that we’ve seen significant improvements in both design and sound quality from the M2 to the M3. We strongly consider them among the top noise canceling headphones of 2021.
Before we get to WH-1000XM3 Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals analysis, let’s take a look at some of the key things that make the Sony XM3 a great choice if you’re looking for noise canceling headphones.
Design and comfort
With a first look, the XM3 does look very similar to the XM2 sibling, but there are quite a few subtle differences once you take a closer look. The XM3’s are lighter and have more spacious earpads which surround the ear which we found a lot more comfortable.
Sony has moved away from the leathery/fabric style finish of the XM2 and replaced it with a matte plastic with the XM3. Overall, we felt this was an improvement and less susceptible to stains and fingerprint marks.
You’ll be able to pick up the XM3’s in both Black and Champagne Gold with bronze highlights. The finish looks stylish and premium, whilst also being functional.
Voice and touch control
The XM3’s have pretty slick touch controls built into the right outside touch panel. From here you can use finger swipes and touch to take care of things like answering calls, play and pause, skipping songs and volume control.
There are many other nifty features like Quick Attention mode, where you just need to hold your hand over the earphone cup to reduce the sound of music and allow exterior noise. Holding your hand on the cup also allows you to interact with voice assistants like Siri and Google Assistant, though we haven’t found any news on Alexa compatibility as of yet.
From our tests, the touch control worked superbly. They’re simple and easy to use.
The Sony WH-1000XM3 uses the all-new QN1 processor. Listeners should hear improvements across board with noise cancelation, but we think the most notable improvements are in the mid to high frequency range. We also found them to be excellent at blocking out constant noises like plane engines, trains, and office chatter.
We also liked how there were two listening modes, Ambient and Noise Cancelling, which mean you can choose to hear the outside noise, or block everything out. Useful in office environments or when you’re expecting (or not wanting interruptions.
The sound quality, as you might expect, is outstanding and very well balanced. We found the bass was able to go deep, without sounding blown out or rumbling, whilst higher pitched sounds and effects were extremely clear. We found it to be a truly immersive experience.
Our verdict: The Sony WH-1000XM3 noise canceling headphones are a real hit. The sound quality is excellent, they’re comfortable enough to use for hours at a time and they’re packed with lots of practical features. Overall, we think they’re easily one of the best noise canceling headphones available this season.
