By now, we should all be familiar with Samsung Galaxy, now it’s time to meet Samsungs new entry to the market. The Samsung Odyssey Mixed Reality headset. The headset is set to be released this holiday season, and some are saying that on paper, it is the best Mixed Reality headset so far this year. Could this be the best Mixed Reality headset this Black Friday? We can’t say for sure yet, but we’re really excited to test it out when it’s available in November. We’ll be keeping a close eye for Samsung Odyssey Black Friday deals as we approach Thanks Giving.
Samsung Odyssey Specs, why are Mixed Reality fans excited?
The new Samsung mixed reality headset is designed to work with a Windows PC and it has two things that competitors do not. Firstly, the incredible quality of AMOLED screens. Secondly, the built-in headphones from audio partner AKG.
AMOLED usually provides much deeper blacks than regular LCD panels. This really adds to the depth and realism of the virtual/mixed reality experience. The built-in headphones, however, are just really convenient for the mixed reality experience. No cords or wires required means you can plug right in without any need for existing headphones.

As you may expect, the Odyssey is going to cost a bit more than the competing mixed reality headsets. It’s expected to be released on November 6, 2017 for the mid $$$ price. This is just a few weeks before Black Friday, and seeing that the VR market has some big players, we’re expecting to see the price dropped as we approach Black Friday and deals week.
