Infant Optics Baby Monitor Key Features overview
The video baby monitor has a cool feature that supports interchangeable lenses, depending on your preference. There’s a standard lens, 2x zoom lens, and a wide angle lens to give a wider view. It features a 3.5 inch color LCD that is activated by sound, so basically when your baby cries or makes a noise waking up it is comes on. You can then communicate with your baby with two way talk. The camera features infrared lights to enable night vision without disturbing your baby, and you have the option to expand your system up to 4 cameras.
The video live streams to a screen where you can do a simple pan, tilt, rotate or zoom to look around the room. It is a shame that the video monitor doesn’t link to your smart phone. The extra screen seems unnecessary and it means you’re limited to only viewing the video from one device, plus you can’t view the feed when you are out like you could if it streamed to an App. Infant Optics claim that it is more secure as it does not use an internet connection, but we would like to see Infant Optics add a companion App in the future so parents at least have the option. Another disadvantage is that it does not record any footage, as is the case with some WIFI security cameras, so you will need to consider how important these features are to you.
