Since it was released in April 2018, there is no data for last Black Friday. However, we have seen significant discounts on 2 of the 3 model colors available in other sales – likely because they are less popular. The mint green has seen up to 35% off the RRP in one sale, whilst the slate gray has seen similar of around 32%. However, we were unable to find any previous sales on the rose gold. We think this is a good indication there will be Black Friday Canon IVY sales on some models, so check for any discounts we find for 2023 on this page!
What is the Canon IVY?
The IVY is a new mobile printer released by camera giant Canon in mid 2018. It is designed to print photos direct from your mobile device with the aid of the Canon Mini Print companion App, using Zink technology to print without requiring ink. The device comes in three colors; mint green, rose gold and slate gray.
Though it is a new venture for Canon, they are pretty late to the game as the hype with these portable printers started a while ago with the HP Sprocket. So have they done anything new? In short, no it is pretty much the same experience as other leading mobile printers on the market. There is also quite a lot of skepticism about the quality of the prints, with some claiming they are grainy and lack quality.
Are quality print what it’s all about though? Or is it just a way to have fun with your friends and print some photos. We think it is the latter, though the price of this printer suggests otherwise… Our recommendation would be to only purchase this if Canon IVY Black Friday deals are put out by retailers, otherwise look for a cheaper alternative.
